Supporting Photo Activity Engagement at an Education Fair
The SwissSkills central vocational championship serves as an inspirational gateway to the vast array of Swiss vocational professions, engaging around 120,000 students, job seekers, families, and other interested parties in a five-day event. A new campaign for BerufsbildungPlus launched in 2022 strengthens public awareness of the dual vocational education system. At BerufsbildungPlus' booth at the 2022 SwissSkills, visitors could express their pride in vocational education by participating in a photo activity. Whether with classmates, alone, or with teachers, parents, or grandparents, everybody was invited to strike a pose on the "red arrow" and carry the campaign message.
Challenge
Streamlining User Data and Compliance Management
The central challenge in this project was to streamline the capture and management of photo permissions in real time during and after the exposition. Managing such permissions, especially for underage participants, required designing a visitor-specific permission capture wizard that ensured adherence to the respective data privacy regulations. The goal was to create an intuitive landing page, allowing participants to sign up and be guided through the steps in providing all necessary information.
Results
Enabling an Efficient Permission Compliance Workflow
Via the multilingual SwissSkills mobile web app specifically created for the BerufsbildungPlus booth, users were able to sign up and manage their photo permissions, with a unique link for underage users to acquire consent from their legal guardians. Concurrently, the backend tool supported administrators in efficiently managing the permission status for all groups, ensuring efficient and compliant usage of captured photos. This also included the curation of photos for the event-specific Social Wall, depending on the overall compliance status of the individuals depicted in a specific photo.
